Please don't delete the blog!! Stitching pink is not just an October thing...it's an everyday awareness of breast cancer! This blog has been a GREAT resource as well!!
Just because no one has posted doen't mean we don't enjoy the blog! I celebrated my 2nd anniversary of being diagnosed with infilterating lobular carcinoma. It was found so early that I only had 4 chemo treatments and 28 radiation zaps! I consider myself so blessed. Aug. 2010 my PET scan showed I was still cancer free. I will be repeating that procedure on Nov. 16, 2011, I assume without a doubt that it will be clear also. I did have both breast removed although it was first thought that I would be able to just have a lumpectomy. My surgeon was able to get clear margins of the initial 1cm lump. As she was finishing up she felt tissue that did not feel right. She wasn't able to get clear margins. Being lobular carcinoma, the type that can reappear else where, it was recommended that I have both breast removed. It wasn't a difficult decision, but I did morn the loss.It didn't take long for me to realize that they did not define who I am and I had much more living to do! At 64 I had many other events waiting on me!
Why Stitch Pink? - a couple years ago, I was looking thru a quilting magazine and I came across an event called "Quilt Pink". My brain gears started rolling and I thought what a great idea to include cross stitching!
I know many survivors, and I hold many memories of the ones that fought and lost their battle.
This is our place where we can stitch pink! My hopes of this little site is to bring awareness of the importance of breast screening, and early detection of breast cancer. If you have a breast cancer stitch project you would like to show case, please let me know, and I will give you rights to join this group.
Whether you are a stitcher, tatter, knitter, quilter, want to be apart of our little family, etc, etc, please join us!
There will be more details and contest coming in the near future. If you would like to join us, please email me at stitchpink@gmail.com
Thanks!
